Last month Via ID organized, in collaboration with Agorize, the Asia Mobility Startup Challenge to find the nuggets of mobility in Southeast Asia, India and Australia. On this occasion, a call for projects was launched during spring 2019 to discover ever more innovative projects that meet the challenges of tomorrow’s urban transport.
After receiving more than 110 applications from 18 countries, the winner has been unveiled during the Innovfest Unbound conference in Singapore, which this year brought together more than 18,000 delegates, more than 400 speakers and 22 content tracks. Singapore, a true mobility ecosystem and at the forefront of technology on the smart city is the ideal city to find the nuggets of tomorrow.
In 2 months, 118 startups from 14 countries have submitted their application to the challenge. These startups had to answer to one of our 4 key themes.
The top 6 startups presented their project on June 27th at the Grand Final in Singapore and had the opportunity to exhibit at our Via ID pavilion at the Innovfest Unbound.
Liftango is an on-demand and shared mobility technology company that solves commute problems for cities, organizations and fleet operators.
The startup will be able to benefit from privileged meetings with the partners of the challenge and a mentoring to perfect its strategy thanks to a mentoring of Via ID and partners specialized in the mobility.
This beautiful event ended with a cocktail gathering winning startups, jury members and company representatives such as Porsche, French Tech, Hera Capital, Lufthansa Innovation, Goldbell Mobility, ZTP China and AXA.
The Asia Mobility Startup Challenge was a great opportunity for TomTom to discover exciting startups that are innovating in the fields of shared mobility and fleets. We are now engaging with some of the participants around location technology.

This event was also an opportunity to give a great visibility to the finalist startups as well as Xee and UbiGo in the Via ID pavilion throughout the duration of the conference in order to create synergies with the actors of the mobility of the local ecosystem.
On this occasion, Yann Marteil, CEO of Via ID participated to the panel “Future of Mobility” on the main stage of the conference alongside Low Ka Hoe, Chief Strategy Officer at ST Engineering and Peter Littau, Head of Strategic Expansion at Volocopter.
