Created to support European startups developing innovations in sustainable mobility, the European Startup Prize for mobility launches its 4th edition on Thursday, September 30th in Tallinn in the presence of its co-founders and partners.

What is the EUSP?

This leading public-private initiative, first launched in 2017 by Karima Delli, Chairwoman of the European Parliament‘s Committee on Transport and Tourism, and co-founded by Via ID and the Boston Consulting Group, is much more than a prize as it reveals Europe’s best startups in sustainable mobility.

Via ID is proud to be the co-founder of this major ecosystem and will support this 4th edition by connecting the various actors of mobility globally. Via ID is also putting its expertise at the service of the prize in order to coordinate the selection process and evaluate the hundreds of candidate startups. Today, more than 50 independent evaluators are involved throughout Europe to review each application on the basis of the following criteria:

“As co-founder of the EUSP, investor and business accelerator specialized in sustainable mobility, we know the strong potential of European mobility start-ups. We are therefore very proud to launch this prize for the 4th consecutive year and to put our expertise at the service of a more sustainable Europe.”

Marie Bonniol, Marketing & Ecosystem Director at Via ID

Supported by both the European Parliament and in collaboration with the European Commission, the European Investment Bank and other major European institutions, the EUSP is building a unique European innovation ecosystem to help sustainable mobility startups grow faster, scale up to another European country, to benefit EU citizens, its technology ecosystem and the planet.

“It is the first since its creation that the European Startup Prize for Mobility has faced such an urgent challenge of both enabling green innovation to fight climate change and supporting its European innovators in a post-crisis world. That is why its acceleration and investment programme is constantly adapting to provide a one-stop-shop to the European Union and European key players in the field of sustainable mobility. In that regard, co-founding this Prize with ViaID is a tremendous asset for the startups in order to boost their business and for Europe to build up the largest ecosystem for green innovation.”
