Transdev, world leader in mobility, recently joined the Mobility Club – the acceleration platform dedicated to mobility players launched in 2018 by Via ID – to explore innovation strategies and new business models in the mobility sector.
Transdev: a key global player in tomorrow’s mobility.
Transdev is a global mobility operator and integrator that develops and operates safe, efficient and innovative solutions to enable everyone to move daily. Today, and following the acquisition of First Transit in March 2023, the French group – present in no less than 19 countries – carries nearly 10 million passengers every day, thanks to its various modes of transport.
Multi-modality, digital solutions (MaaS, TAD), mobile applications, solutions to protect the environment… This historic group is also a key player in tomorrow’s mobility.
Indeed, in order to meet its ambition to develop accessible mobility for all, Transdev relies on innovation and joins forces with numerous partners to design environmentally-friendly solutions adapted to the needs of an ever-changing society and of each individual (as well as companies: home-work transport, vehicles and travel solutions for healthcare establishments, airports and airlines, etc.).
In 2014, Transdev even initiated – with its main partners – LEMON: “Laboratoire d’Expérimentation des Mobilités” (Mobility Experimentation Laboratory). An innovation lab based on shared innovation, to imagine and test sustainable mobility solutions adapted to the territorial context. An active initiative within 7 territories, which has enabled the co-construction and co-experimentation of over 20 projects since 2014, including:
- The Captain Bike electric bike and scooter service, which connects the Chantrerie district (which is not crossed by public transport lines) to nearby bus services.
- Or Terra’s eco-designed bus stops, which make passengers feel cooler in hot weather.
Transdev x Mobility Club: the partnership
When it comes to its innovation strategy, Transdev’s vision is rather collaborative. Indeed, the world leader in public transport already has a number of partners, and the Mobility Club by Via ID is more than delighted to be one of them and to count Transdev among its members.
